Android 17, designated PG-8168, is a fictional character first appearing in the Dragon Ball anime series during the "Androids Saga" of Dragon Ball Z.
Originally a human named Lapis, he and his twin sister Lazuli (Android 18) were forcibly transformed into cyborgs by Dr. Gero, a scientist of the Red Ribbon Army. Gero sought revenge on Goku for destroying the army.
